La m\u00e9diath\u00e8que s'abonne \u00e0 un nouveau magazine, POLKA<\/span><\/strong>,<\/em><\/a> centr\u00e9 sur la photographie et le reportage et profite de la venue de Dimitri BECK<\/span><\/strong>, directeur de la photographie chez POLKA (magazine, multim\u00e9dia et galerie) \u00e0 l'occasion de la semaine de la photographie<\/span><\/a><\/strong>, pour l'inviter \u00e0 \u00e9changer autour du dernier num\u00e9ro de POLKA<\/em>, paru le 21 f\u00e9vrier dernier.
\nDimitri Beck pr\u00e9sentera une s\u00e9lection de reportages command\u00e9s par POLKA<\/em> ces derniers mois, notamment un photo-reportage r\u00e9alis\u00e9 \u00e0 Bagdad, autour du\u00a0tribunal de justice qui juge les djihadistes de Daesh et leurs proches.<\/p>\n

La rencontre sera aussi l'occasion de discuter plus amplement du m\u00e9tier de directeur de la photographie.<\/p>\n

Polka<\/strong>, lanc\u00e9 en 2007, est un trimestriel d\u00e9di\u00e9 \u00e0 la photographie. R\u00e9cits, reportages, enqu\u00eates, rencontres, expositions, art… Polka ouvre en grand ses pages aux photographes.Et prend le temps de l\u2019analyse pour donner du sens \u00e0 l\u2019information.<\/p>\n

M\u00e9dia hybride et innovant, Polka est aussi une galerie de 300 m2, et une librairie de photographie, toutes deux situ\u00e9es au coeur du Marais, \u00e0 Paris. Fond\u00e9e en 2007 par Ad\u00e9lie de Ipanema et Edouard Genestar, la galerie Polka est ouverte au public, et expose de nombreux artistes, parmi les plus grandes signatures de la photographie (Marc Riboud, Sebasti\u00e3o Salgado, William Klein, Joel Meyerowitz…).<\/p>\n

Dimitri Beck<\/strong> est directeur de la photographie de Polka<\/em> (magazine+galerie+multimedia). Il est un des membres fondateurs de Polka aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de la famille Genestar, depuis 2008. Auparavant, de 2004 \u00e0 la fin 2006, il dirigeait l'agence Aina Photo \u00e0 Kaboul. Il a particip\u00e9 \u00e0 la formation d'une g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de photographes afghans et \u00e0 sa promotion. Il \u00e9tait \u00e9galement r\u00e9dacteur en chef du magazine bilingue fran\u00e7ais-anglais "Les Nouvelles de Kaboul \/ New Afghanistan". Dimitri a commenc\u00e9 sa carri\u00e8re comme journaliste ind\u00e9pendant en 1998 et a souvent travaill\u00e9 en Asie centrale et dans le Caucase.<\/p>\n

Il intervient r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement lors de conf\u00e9rences sur le photojournalisme et donne des cours au d\u00e9partement de journalisme de Sciences Po \u00e0 Paris. Toutes les semaines, il tient une chronique radio sur la photo sur France Info.<\/p>\n

The Romain Gary library now receive a new magazine, , POLKA<\/span><\/strong>,<\/em><\/a>\u00a0magazine of photography and reports.
\nOur librarians are glad to welcome Dimitri BECK<\/span><\/strong>, director of photography of POLKA (magazine, multimedia and gallery) for the Photo Week<\/span><\/strong><\/a>, for a talk about the last edition of Polka magazine, published this February, on the 21st.
\nDimitri Beck will show a selection of reports, ordered and funded by POLKA these last months, included a photography report made in Bagdad, about the Court which judge the jihadists of Daesh and their relatives.<\/p>\n

Polka magazine, launched in 2007, is a quarterly dedicated to photography. Reportage, documentary, exhibitions and art… Polka is wide open to the work of the photographers. And it takes the time of analysis to bring sense to the news and put it into perspective. Sold in newsstands and in specialized bookshops in France and abroad, Polka circulation is more than 30,000 (source OJD) per issue. And it also produces many articles on his website www.polkamagazine.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Hybrid and innovative media, Polka hosts also a gallery of 300 m2 and a bookstore, located in the heart of Le Marais quarter, central Paris, opened to the public. Dimitri Beck<\/strong> is the director of photography of\u00a0Polka<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>(magazine+gallery+multimedia), in Paris. As \u00a0part of the executive management since 2008, he has been contributing to the development of Polka.
\nPrior to work at Polka, he was the Director of the Aina Photo Agency based in the Afghan capital Kabul from September 2004 to December 2006, where he was also the Editor-in-chief for the Anglo-French feature magazine \u00ab\u00a0Les Nouvelles de Kaboul \u2013 New Afghanistan\u00a0\u00bb. Before he was working as editor-in-chief of Reza Deghati\u2019s photo agency \u201cWebistan\u201d. His thirst to travel brought him especially in the Caucasus mountains and across Central Asia when he started out late 1990\u2019s as an independent journalist filing reports to French and international media outlets.<\/p>\n

During his spare time, Dimitri gives lectures on photojournalism at conferences and educational institutes such as photojournalism courses in the journalism department at SciencesPo in Paris and Speos photo school. He also hosts a radio programme about images on France Info and participates in international photo juries.<\/p>\n
