ITINERARY FROM PARIS TO JERUSALEM

Each Autumn since 2012, the Institut français de Jérusalem – Romain Gary teams up with the Agence France-Presse and offers you the opportunity to enter a digital photography contest: Itinerary from Paris to Jerusalem.
The goal of this contest is to gather around, on one original and inspirational theme, the amateur and professional photographers of the region. Among all the photographers that enter this contest, 3 are selected by a professional jury in each category and chosen to receive a prize. At the same time, the public also selects a winner of the facebook prize.

The previous contests

To help you: the Jury's recommandations and some reminders about the contest's rules:

> You must send us a photo or a set of photos

> The submitted photographs must evoke Jerusalem or Paris, or both of these cities. It is not however necessary that the photographs ought to be taken in these cities!

> All submitted photographs must have been taken between March, 15th 2020 and April, 3rd 2021. Prior photographs will be disqualified.

> Photographs must have been taken in France, Jerusalem, Israel or the Palestinian Territories.

> The jury reminds the professional participants that the coherence of the series is crucial.

Who can enter this contest?

This contest is open to all permanent residents of France, Jerusalem, Israel and the Palestinian Territories. If you are among those, you can enter the contest in one of two categories:

► Professionals
This category is open to all photographers, journalists and all image professionals as well as to photography, media, journalism and art students, regardless of age. The contestants within this category must enter a series of 3 to 5 photographs illustrating the contest’s theme.

► Amateur photographers
This category is open to all the other photography enthusiasts, regardless of age. Contestants within this category must send one single photograph illustrating the contest’s theme.

What are the prizes?
Each year, several prizes are given:

► The jury prize
The jury, made of image professionals and of representants of our partners, chooses 3 or 4 winners from each category and gives them one prize each.

The jury members for 2020 are:

• Nissan N. Perez, historian of photography and President of the Jury;
• Guillaume Robert, Cultural advisor of the General Consulate of France in Jerusalem and Head of the Institut français de Jérusalem;
• Jean Jacques Gatein, executive manager of the IFJ – Romain Gary;
• Valérie Abécassis, Chief editor Culture & Lifestyle for i24NEWS
• Didier Ben Loulou, photographer artist
• Emmanuel Dunand, Head photographer for Israël, Jerusalem & Palestinian territories for the AFP;
• Olivier Fitoussi, Head photographer for Haaretz;
• Claude Oliel, secretary-general of France-Israel Foundation, manager of Bamboo shop
• Marc Israel Sellem, photographer for the Jerusalem Post;
• Rachel Yedid, painter and a photographer

This jury will grant about 10 prizes that will be announced later on.
